Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD visited NTPC Singrauli and reviewed the station performance.

He interacted with the members of Union and Association and urged everyone to keep the flag high of NTPC and foster a culture of learning and innovation.

Shri Ramesh V Babu, Director (Operation), Shri Debashish Sen, RED (North), Shri A K Tripathi, ED (Operation Services), Shri, Chilakapati Sivakumar, ED (Safety), Shri Manish Kumar Srivastava, ED (Engg), Shri Basuraj Goswami, CGM (Singrauli) and other senior official were also present.

Being the flagship project, NTPC Singrauli has a number of firsts to its credit and has played a key role in positioning NTPC as a brand in the Power Sector of the country. The humble and dedicated beginning of NTPC started in Singrauli on 13th February 1982 has yielded results and paved the way for many landmark achievements bringing the company to its present stature.

The First three 200 MW Units at Singrauli were commissioned in 1982-83 on schedule amid challenges and problems. This was a benchmark in a sector known for time and cost overruns and commissioning slippages.

“You are on time; you are within budget and you are generating profits. These are all phenomena and characteristics that the World Bank likes to be associated with”. These are words of A W Clausen President of World Bank during his visit to Singrauli in 1985. Synchronization of the first unit of 200 MW at Singrauli in February 1982 was a landmark event in the history of NTPC and Indian Power Sector.
